DISTORTION OF THE MIND: SATURATION

Gallery
Mala dvorana Pogona Jedinstvo, Zagreb
Dates
9. 2. — 14. 2. 2027.

The project begins with the question of what happens when we stop perceiving familiar objects, surfaces, and forms through their usual functions and meanings.

Everyday reality often becomes unnoticed precisely because of habitual perception: the mind filters its surroundings, selecting what it considers important, while familiar elements of our environment gradually fade into the background.

The artist interrupts this automatic process by isolating small, seemingly insignificant details from her immediate surroundings. She then multiplies, mirrors, rotates, fragments, and chromatically transforms them, gradually stripping the original motif of its initial meaning and turning it into a new visual structure.

In this project, distortion is not an error but a method of artistic exploration. Saturation refers both to the intensity of color and to a state of visual overstimulation — a moment when the abundance of stimuli alters the way we perceive.

The familiar becomes unfamiliar, the detail becomes the whole, and an everyday object becomes the starting point for creating a new visual world.

The project represents a natural continuation of the artist’s previous interest in subjective perception, psychological states, and the individual's relationship with reality. At the same time, it marks a shift toward a deeper exploration of perception itself, digital transformation, and the boundary between the recognizable and the abstract.

In this way, Distortion of the Mind: Saturation builds upon the artist’s previous artistic development.
